CLERICAL NEWS:  Many of you will be aware that Fr Tony tested positive for Covid-19 during the week and is currently self-isolating. He hopes to be back to work towards the end of next week. He appreciates all the support and offers of help given to him during the past few days. Sincere thanks to Fr Denis Mullane and Fr Brendan Duggan who are celebrating Mass in Abbeyfeale this weekend. We appreciate their support and availability. We also want to wish Fr. Duggan a very happy and healthy retirement. He reached the retirement age for clergy (75 years) at the end of February. Fr Brendan will be leaving Athea parish on Easter Sunday. Even though he is retiring from parish ministry, he is taking up a new position with his religious congregation in Rockwell College, Co. Tipperary. We wish Fr. Brendan all the best for the future and we thank him for all his pastoral work in Athea parish and for all his help in the parish of Abbeyfeale and for all his assistance in the Pastoral Area. Fr. Denis and Fr. Tony will be taking over responsibility for the parish of Athea from Easter Sunday onwards. Fr. Jack O’Donnell will celebrate Mass on Monday evening at 7.00pm. Thanks to Fr Jack for his help and assistance.  Prayer Services (Liturgy of the Word), will be celebrated on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings  at 10.00am. Thanks to our Lay Readers of the Word for leading these special liturgies. Spring Stations: Fr Tony would like to thank all who contributed to the recent Spring Stations collection. Your support and generosity is very much appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS AND JUBILIATIONS, ESTHER:  A post on Facebook this week from Ballyseedy Castle Hotel, Tralee says;  “We are a very proud team tonight.. Congratulations to Esther who won gold and was named Front Of House/Team member at the @goldmedalawards this evening”.  Esther is our Esther from Kilconley Lower, one of the McCarthy family who are legendary in the hospitality business.  Ballyseedy Castle are lucky to have her and signs on with all the awards she has won down through the years.
