PROLOGUE: Lord keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me in the shadow of your wings. I sing as I arise today! I call on my creators might: The will of God to be my guide, the eye of God to be my sight, the hand of God to be my stay, the shield of God to be my strength, the path of God to be my way. Prayer of St. Patrick.
In memory of baby Layla McKenna, 23/02/’21 to 28/02/’21, lines are being sold locally in aid of Crumlin Hospital. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
The annual Abbeyfeale St Patrick’s Day Parade makes a welcome return next Thursday following a two year absence due to the pandemic.
The ever-popular Comhaltas Teampall An Ghleanntáin will start off proceedings and raise our spirits with a lively session in The Square on Thursday afternoon.
The parade itself will begin from Mountmahon Industrial Estate at 4pm and, led by the Rathkeale Brass Band, will continue down along Main Street past the reviewing stand in The Square.
We hope that the various local businesses, clubs, sporting organizations, individuals, etc. will take part in the parade. We also ask people to line the parade route and cheer on the participants while enjoying the colour and the pageantry of this special occasion.
There will be prizes for the best entry and best decorated window.
Bí ann agus bí linn, Lá le Pádraig!
