WHAT A STORM OR STORMS
Well it definitely was a weekend of storms to remember. I was in London with my sister Patsy at our Uncle’s funeral and were glad to get back on Thursday evening before the Storm Alerts came into operation. Schools closed in most areas on Friday as Storm Dudley moved in. In our area we were lucky not being in the Red Alert area
Saturday saw Storm Eunice coming to visit us, with Friday night being quite gusty as well but thankfully no serious damage done around here. Sunday was a different story and Storm Franklin arrived which we didn’t really expect to be as bad as it turned out to be. The morning as we did our usual tidy up collecting the rubbish around the ring which actually was much more than usual as bins had toppled over emptying their contents, wasn’t that windy. However as the day progressed the Gusts and driving rain were frightening and everyone stayed indoors. Thankfully everyone stayed safe, however our thoughts are with the family in Ballyhahill whose house was struck by lightening and burned down. Hopefully that’s the end of it for a while at least.
Sincere Congrats and good wishes are extended to Catherine Tierney, daughter of Margaret and Ted, Templeathea, who had the all important question popped to her under The Eiffel Tower in Paris this week. A very surprised Catherine of course said YES, Happy Days. The lucky man is Stephen Reidy from Abbeyfeale.
Congrats also to Nicola Pearson, daughter of Helen O’Connor, Lower Rd, who made her proud mother a Granny with the birth of adorable little Harry recently. Best wishes all around.
Next Tuesday is Pancake Tuesday so no doubt there will be lemons, pancakes and happy kids in abundance. Ash Wednesday follows the start of Lent, time is flying.
I e-mailed Karen Kiely our Lourdes co-ordinator last week as some were asking about Lourdes this June myself included. Unfortunately the Medical team don’t think it’s Safe to go this year, so we will have to wait another year, please God next year all going well.
Thought For The Week:-
Believe in yourself and you will be Unstoppable.
