The Abha Bhán Players will be holding another reading in the Parish Hall, Ballyhahill,  on this Thursday October 7th at 7.30 . Great fun was had last week by all who turned up so more fun is guaranteed this week. If anyone, outside of those already involved, would like to take part you are welcome to attend at this time.  The Buds of Ballybunion by John B Keane is the proposed play. It is lovely to know that Athea Drama is back in action too. Some semblance of normality is returning. But saying that, many locals have recently contracted the Covid, so we should all take good care. It is not gone yet.

Congratulations to Mike and Marian Cummane on the birth of their second grandchild Mila Cummane last week, a son to Cathal and Sarah. Congratulations too to Micheál and Aisling Moran on the birth of their baby girl, Willow, last week also. It is great to hear of all these new babies bringing joy to the world.

Two Ballyhahill boys, Noah Daly and Jimmy Mullane both aged 10, were part of the Shannon Gael’s U13 team who, unfortunately, were beaten in the County Final last Saturday in Rathkeale. They were disappointed but it is all part of growing up, I’m afraid.

I was sad to hear of the death of Bride O’Connor, nee Mulvihill, in Glin this week. She fought a brave battle against cancer. Sincere sympathies to her husband Eddie and children Seamus, Maura and Stephanie and their families. May she rest in peace.
