COSTA DEL IRELAND
Well as I put together my few lines this Monday evening the sun is still shining. It has been a glorious few days. At times we were complaining it was TOO HOT but I suppose we aren’t used to these temperatures. Maybe we should do as our European Counterparts and take A SIESTA from 2-4 o’clock. Although I don’t think I could see that happening somehow, if you were in the bog doing the footing or whatever, you wouldn’t be leaving or lying down for 2 hours or the MIDGES or DOCTOR BEES would have you eaten alive. Let’s hope it stays with us for another while and enjoy Ballybunion and all our beautiful scenic places we can visit.
When you see the devastation the floods have caused in Germany and Belgium with houses, cars and shops being washed away. People left with absolutely nothing ,we should appreciate our own weather. No extremes of heat or cold, no typhoons, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, just a little more rain than some places. Nothing that just an umbrella won’t solve.
Congrats to our ATHEA BOYS who beat Monagea on Thursday night last in Newcastle winning the West Intermediate League Championship the score was 3-10 to Monagea 0-13.The cup was presented to captain Dylan Griffin who thanked everyone involved.
There are a few tickets left for the GAA Club Development Draw in which the first draw will take place in a few weeks time. At just 50 Euro for the 5 draws with some great prizes the club would be glad of your support to help them further improve their track. It is hoped the tarmac will be laid on the walking track in the not too distant future.
Wasn’t it HEARTWARMING to see Limerick coming into the game after half-time on Sunday last. It gave everyone A LIFT after a terrible year. Hopefully they will go all the way and win the ALL-IRELAND.
Thought For The Week-
Wanting to be someone else is a waste of who you are.
