Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzagais celebrated on Monday 21st June. He is the patron of the sick and those who care for them. His image is on the stained-glass window in the chapel of prayer, Ballylongford. It was presented to the church by Father Con McCarthy who served in the parish for ten years (1864-1874).

MUSIC: FleadhFest Luimnigh 2021 was premiered over the June Bank Holiday in three separate episodes, each about 50 minutes long.
On Friday the first episode was broadcast on the special Comhaltas channel on YouTube. Episode one featured a welcome address from the current Mayor of Limerick, Cllr. BISHOPS: At their Summer General Meeting this week, bishops expressed their thanks for the over 550 submissions received from the public as part of the initial phase of the Synodal Pathway.
The first two years of Synodal Pathway in Ireland will complement the Catholic Church’s worldwide journey towards the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of Bishops in Rome entitled, For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission. This 9 and 10 October Pope Francis will officially launch the Universal Synod and has asked that the whole Church prepare for this Synod which is scheduled to take place in Rome in October 2023.

BOAR: As a nocturnal mammal, the Wild boar is active during the night, when it leaves its shelter to find food. This animal spends as much as 12 hours per day sleeping in a nest, constructed out of leaves. Females of this species exhibit a social behavior, forming so-called “sounders” – loosely organized groups of 6 – 30 individuals. Each of these units is composed of breeding females and their offspring. Two or more groups may occasionally share the same area without mixing each other. Male Wild boars tend to lead solitary life during the most of the year.
