Thanks to everyone who has purchased Club Membership/Tickets for the Club Development Draw to date, we have noticed increased activity on Club Force over the past few weeks. We are encouraging all members to renew their membership before the end of March to avail of the 10% discount. We are also appealing to all track users to register as non playing members of Athea GAA to assist us in the costs associated with this project. Membership can be purchased by following the link below. The link can also be found on Athea GAA social media accounts.

We are delighted to welcome Áine Reidy back to the background team of Athea GAA who will take on the role as Club Insurance Officer. Áine is a former treasurer of the Club and we are confident Áine will bring the same level of commitment and expertise to this new role. Huge thanks to club secretary Pat Sullivan for managing all insurance related matters in recent years.

Our Club is currently finalising it’s application for Sports Capital Funding. Many thanks to Michael O’Connor Jr for all his advice and guidance.

In the not too distant future, we are hoping to improve the surface of our walk & talk track by laying tarmacadam on the limestone chips surface. This will greatly improve the walkway and make the surface smoother. However it is important to note that Athea GAA’s loan balance of €38,000 remains. We will be erecting a loan thermometer at our Club house in the near future, and we hope the Athea Community will come on board to assist us in reducing this balance significantly during 2021.

Finally, congratulations to Athea Ladies Footballer Rebekah Daly for her recognition on the Junior Team of the championship. We are all very proud of you!
