Sympathies to Mary Reidy and her family in Knockdown on the death of Patie Reidy, Birmingham recently. Patie, a brother to Moss Reidy, is survived by his sister Josie Scanlon in Glin.

Jim Prendeville has been transferred to the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dunlaoire for further therapy to enable mobility. We live in hope.

Meanwhile his daughter, and mine, Lisa Daly has launched a new product on her website www.thisisyou.ie . In the pandemonium of rearing five young children she is using her creative streak to put together a book in which to keep a detailed record of all the important milestones in your children’s lives in one handy place. It is a Memory Journal to last a lifetime. Unlike “in our time” when one went to a shop to buy anything, a lot of shopping is now done online and lots of businesses work through Instagram. Obviously this next generation have got more of a handle on this than I or my vintage. Instagram is the place to be it seems.  So if any of you have an Instagram page you will find all you want to know at @thisisyou_x or on the website mentioned above. It makes the perfect present for all parents or parents to be. Check it out. Wishing Lisa lots of success in her new venture.

Many local people have received their first vaccine and are eagerly awaiting the second in a few weeks. Please God this virus will soon be killed off through us being careful and obeying the rules as best we can and now aided by the vaccines. I know many people are hesitant about taking it but if we were to think back we realise that TB, Smallpox and even mumps and measles have all been got rid of through the use of vaccines. So we must trust and  thank our scientists and know that they are doing their best to keep us free of these diseases which can cause so much sickness.
