The FAI Cup Final for Women was played at Tallaght Stadium Dublin on Saturday last. The favourites Peamount United from Dublin defeated  a young Cork City side by 6-0, to claim the double after being crowned League winners last month. It was a proud day for Sophie Liston from Newcastle West who was no 11 on the Cork City team. Daughter of Stephen Liston from Carrigkerry she played well but the experienced and more physical Peamount had too much talent on the day.

People can order Christmas door and grave wreaths locally from Moira on 069-76256 or 086-2123560. All the proceed will go to charity.

Tickets will be available from the parish office on Wednesday and Thursday, December 16/17, from 2pm to 4pm and on Saturday, December 19 from 2pm to 4pm in both churches. You must specify which mass you will attend and hand over your ticket to the ushers on duty at that specific mass. The Christmas Eve Mass will be celebrated in Ardagh Church at 6.30pm and in Carrigkerry Church at 8.30pm. The Christmas Day Mass will be celebrated  in Ardagh Church at 10am and in Carrigkerry Church at 11.30am.
