Sincere sympathy to the O’Grady family Glenbawn on the death of their Uncle Paddy in the UK recently. Paddy was a brother to Jack who died earlier this year. He has one remaining sister in the UK and one brother in the USA.
I love to listen in to Georgie Langan on Cork Music station every Saturday night. He plays some lovely songs and includes requests for many people. But it was especially nice to hear the voices of Nora Noonan and Noreen Barrett singing a song which Georgie recorded in Higgins’ house in 1995. It brought back lots of memories of all those lovely people in the Glasha/Glenagragra area who are sadly now gone from this world.
There are a lot of blackberries on the bushes these times, but not many are seen picking blackberries in these modern times, unlike when we were young and we went out with gallons to fill them.
