The Limerick GAA Club draw for July took place during the Live 95fm Sports Show on Saturday, July 25. It was a very successful draw for the Saint Kieran’s club who had five winners. Congratulations to Mattie Histon, Kilcolman who won the special monthly prize of a 2 night stay in Parknasilla Resort and Spa with dinner included. Congratulations also to John and Maurice Shine who won €500 and Aishling Hayes, Sean McCarthy, and Michael Greaney who won €100 each.
Congratulations to Liam Woulfe, Adare and Ardagh native on his reappointment for a second five year term on the Teagasc Authority. Liam is the Managing Director of Grassland AGRO and of Freshgrass Group.

The Sunday Masses are on Saturdays at 6.30pm in Saint Mary’s, Carrigkerry and 11.00am on Sundays in Saint Molua’s, Ardagh (until October). If you wish to come to Mass on a weekday instead of the weekend Fr. Michael is providing an evening Mass in Carrigkerry on Thursdays and in Ardagh on Fridays at 7. 30pm. Masses are celebrated in Saint. Kyran’s, Coolcappa, Tuesday 9.30am, Thursday 7.30pm, Saturday 7.30pm. Saint Colman’s, Kilcolman, Wednesday 9.30am, Friday 7.30pm, Sunday 10am.
Saint Kieran’s lost to Doon by 1-11 to 0-7 in Round 1 of Group 1 of the County Junior Hurling Championship at Clarina on Saturday, July 25.
The death has taken place unexpectedly of Kathleen O’Connor, nee Keogh, Killoughteen, Newcastle West, on Friday, July 17. Kathleen was predeceased by her daughter Maura, brother Willie Keogh and her late husband Willie. In accordance with government guidelines a private funeral Mass took place in Newcastle West Church on Wednesday July 22, at 11.30am, followed by burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery. We extend our sympathy to her partner Ned, daughter Caroline Daly (Kilcolman), son Pat (Athea), sisters Anne Casey and Nora Reidy, son-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Brian, Emma, Conor, Becky and Rory, nephews, nieces, relatives, carer Helen and friends.

Congratulations to Tom Ryan, Ballybrown who won €170 in the West Limerick 102fm 50/50 draw, held on Friday, July 24. Tickets cost €2 and they are available from volunteers, in local shops, or from the radio station. All support is very much appreciated. New volunteers to get involved in all aspects of the station are needed at present. The roles available include research and studio work, fundraising and lots more. Creeves Celtic soccer club made a presentation of PPE equipment to the Brothers of Charity, Foynes, following their family 5km walk/run fundraiser.
ALONE have announced a national support line and additional supports for older people who have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the current Covid-19 outbreak. Old Mill Ladies Football Club are holding a sponsored walk on Sunday, August 9. It will commence at Ardagh Hall and proceed along the Greenway if the Covid-19 restrictions allow. It is also planned to hold a coffee morning in September. Team training has also commenced and new members are most welcome to join the club. Culture Night 2020 will be on Friday, September 18 and it will be a lot different this year due to Covid-19. It will be aimed at stay at home on-line audiences, which will be shown through new channels.
