Well, to start this week, after a lovely sunny day this thursday, after a lot of rain these past few days, I will give six little stories with lots of meanings.
1. Once all villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer all the people gathered but only one boy came with an umbrella. That is faith.
2. When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them. That is trust.
3. Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but we still set the alarms to wake up. That is hope.
4. We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero knowledge of the future. That is confidence.
5. We see the world suffering, but we still get married and have children. That is love.
6.On an old man’s shirt was written “in am not years 80 years old. I am sweet 16 with 64 years experience”. That is the attitude
Have a good week and live your life like these six stories. Remember, good friends are the rare jewels of life; difficult to find and impossible to replace.
Well, we wish Hannah Scanlon of Dirreen a very happy 98th birthday which she celebrated last week with her family and wasn’t she looking a million dollars on the day. Here’s to good health for Hannah and the big one isn’t too far away.
Happy 40th also to Liam Flavin of Glasha who celebrated his big day recently best wishes to him.
To all in the nearby parishes who have lost loved ones recently our thoughts are with you.
This Thursday sees a meeting at our church at 8 pm to organise the reopening of our church for Mass next Monday. Anyone wishing to give a hand cleaning or stewarding their help would be most welcome. Numbers at Mass will be limited to 50 at the start so you are urged to come to Mass early in the week and any day will suffice your duty for Sunday Mass.
Thankfully GAA pitches are reopening this week and our youth will be ecstatic though it’s great to see many of them through out the Covid, running and keeping fit, cycling etc. Keep safe everyone we must still be wary of the situation.
