A.G.M.:
The AGM of Athea GAA takes place on this Sunday evening, January 12th at the Clubhouse. New and old members are asked to come along at 8pm.
New Year Greetings:
Well hopefully everyone had a lovely Christmas, peaceful, yet enjoyable with family and friends. Here’s wishing all GAA enthusiasts a very happy, healthy and sporting New Year.
Operation Transformation:
Well, the walking track was much in use up at Páirc na nGael over Christmas especially after the Christmas “eating” as was “the gym” also.
When ‘Operation Transformation’ starts on this Thursday night, January 9th we want everyone – men, women and children to come along to the GAA pitch and get involved in the walk, in association with Athea GAA Operation Transformation and Get Ireland Walking. 7-8pm is the time. Admission free.
No doubt we will have many enthusiasts, bring a high-vis, the pitch will be lit up.
Coiste na nÓg Table Quiz:
A great crowd as always attended the Coiste na nÓg Table Quiz at the Top of the Town on Saturday night last. Thanks to all who supported the night and to all who gave spot-prizes.
3 Year Strategic Plan:
Athea GAA will be holding their further “3 year strategic plan” meeting in the New Year with Donal Fitzgibbon “at the helm”. It is hoped that all the groups formed at the last meeting will have their plans put together.
Referees Course
There is a big shortage of referees in all counties at the moment including Limerick. Liam O’Sullivan has arranged a Level 1 Foundation course for new referees on the 27th of February, 3rd of March and 5th of March. If anyone within the club is interested please contact John Hunt for more details.
