U-21s:

The U-21s travelled to Feenagh on Sunday last where they lined out against Daithí Brúdairs. Conditions weren’t great and damp underfoot, with wet and slippery conditions. The boys played well, but unfortunately couldn’t make it a win on the day. The score at the whistle read 2-10 to 2-02. However we must remember that many of our Athea players will still be U-21 in 3 years time, and no doubt there will be huge improvements by then.

Lights:

The track lights will go on this week – it will be like the Christmas “light up” and indeed will make a great difference to the track

Strategic Plan:

Put the date – Wednesday December 11th, in your diary! At 7.30pm in the hall an open meeting will take place to which parents, all parish organisations, team players, our youth, indeed everyone is welcome. A 5 year strategic plan will be discussed and everyone’s ideas and help will be taken into consideration. Ideas for the pitch – gym – stand – walking track and all teams both hurling and football and ladies will be tossed about, so come along all parishioners, young and old, and air your views.

Finals Day

The u10s and u8s finished up their year recently with two well contested parish league finals in the high field. Perpetual shields were presented to the winning captains and all players received medals, and the parents supplied loads of food for the after match party.
