It was a very sad week for the parish of Loughill/Ballyhahill. It was with shock we heard of the unexpected death of Liam Reidy, husband to Bridget and father to William, Mairead and Marie last Monday week but it proved to be even more traumatic when Bridget’s father, Ned O’Connor, died on the day her husband was buried. A huge crowd attended both funerals. Sympathies are extended to all the Reidy and O’Connor families on their great loss.

Best wishes to Carol Noonan and Margaret Reidy/Culhane who are members of the Athea Craft group which is having an Open Day on this Saturday November 30th in the Carnegie Library from 10 am to 4 pm selling all kinds of homemade crafts and cards together with complimentary tea and coffee. Try to be there.

The Food and Craft Fair in the Parish Hall Ballyhahill was a great success once again in spite of the not-so-nice day. The children were excited to see Skye, Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol who, in turn, loved meeting all the kids! There was a great display of local produce, arts and crafts enabling many to buy some Christmas presents locally.

Ballyhahill N.S. Parents’ Association wishes to thank everyone who has already bought its 2020 calendar. It features some lovely photos of places in the parish from times past to the present. If you are away from home and would like to purchase one just send a message to their facebook page or ring 087-9861710 and an arrangement will be made to get one to you. Priced at €10. It would make a lovely Christmas present for those who are overseas.
