Athea GAA

Intermediates:

Athea Intermediates play in Round 5 of the Co. Championship on August 24th in Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale against Bruff. Kick-off time is 6pm. As always your support would be much appreciated.

Ongoing Work:

Well the repair work on the roof of the stand and the iron pillars will be starting in the very near future. Again another improvement on Páirc na nGael. The running/walking track has been used a great deal over the summer months and is ideal especially with no traffic and great safety for both young and old.

Unfortunately for our ‘Mayo’ people in the parish their thoughts of being in the All Ireland final were dashed over the weekend against the Dubs. However our Kerry supporters were delighted with their win against Tyrone. No doubt it will be a tough final. My Kerry son-in-law and family were listening on their I-Pad in ‘Aruba’ and roaring and screaming much to the bewilderment of the surrounding tourists.

Best Wishes:

Wishing all our players the very best for the Leaving Cert results this week and for their college places.

U16s

Best of luck to Athea U16 football team in the  county semi-final v Granagh/Ballingarry on this Sunday,  Aug  18th at 10.30am in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale.
