Fr. Austin thanks those who have returned the tax forms. If you have forgotten to do so, this is a gentle reminder to return them as soon as possible please as it means a lot. This is of great benefit to our parish and will reduce the debt, which now stands at €40,000. Thank you for your co-operation always.
Rehearsals are under way for the upcoming production of The Cailin Bán in Glin in September. Congratulations to the Abha Bhán Players who are heavily involved as well as people from Glin and Tarbert and of course the famous Dominic West. All tickets are sold out for both nights.
Young Maggie Eileen Mulvihill was christened last Sunday and family friends and neighbours had a pleasant celebration in the Knockdown Arms afterwards.
This is holiday time and people are coming and going from and to various places within and outside of Ireland, some even as far away as Thailand and Vietnam! It is a long way from the time when a visit to Athea was the highlight of the holidays. Times have changed so much since the 60’s and 70’s when foreign holidays were almost unheard of. We do not know if those times will return again or not. We wait to see what effect Brexit will have on all. In the meantime let us enjoy life while we can and stay safe.
