Athea GAA
Club Draw:
Athea GAA wish to extend sincere thanks to all those who have purchased tickets for the club draw. The first draw will now take place on Saturday night next, July 13th at a venue to be announced. It was postponed this past week due to the fact that the ticket-sellers hadn’t all the ticket stubs in. You still have time to purchase the last few remaining tickets and also if you have decided to pay the €10 a month and want to finish paying off the total price of €80 you can still do so and be in with a chance of winning the €1,000 fully paid up draw.
Minors:
The Minors travelled to Monagea on Friday evening last where they lined out against Knockaderry/Monagea. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be their game. The next game is on Friday, 19th July at home here in Athea against Granagh/Ballingarry. Please support.
Lighting Project:
The new lighting project at Páirc na nGael is due to start hopefully this month or in August. The club aims to have the track lighting up and running for the winter months so that the walking track can be utilized safely all year around, which will be a great asset to both young and old.
County Team
Well done to Michael Tierney, Templeathea who played for Limerick U16 footballers at the weekend. They played against Waterford, North Kerry and Cork County, in the Munster U16 invitational tournament. Michael has been a regular on county underage teams over the last few years and of course is a stalwart of our own U16 and minor teams this year.
