Athea GAA

League Game:

Well Athea travelled to Abbeyfeale on Saturday evening last for a Division 3 League game against Fr. Casey’s. The game got off to a somewhat slow start with the opposition remaining on a 1pt score for over 30mins, until they got a penalty, which left the score at 1-09 to 1-02 in favour of Athea.

It was point after point thereafter for Athea coupled with another goal. The final score gave Athea an overwhelming victory on a scoreline of 2-22 to 1-04. Well done to the entire team.

Club Draw:

Just a couple of weeks left now to purchase your ticket for the 500 Club Draw. It’s imperative that the club tries to sell most or all of the tickets before the 1st draw in order to benefit fully from the work of getting the draw organized and having ticket sellers going from house to house selling them. As the draw is the main fund-raiser for the club – it would be great if as many  households as possible purchased a ticket. There are so many benefits for families at Páirc na nGael – from football, and now hurling, “Mothers and Others” football, Ladies football, gym, walking/running track – so with everyone’s help the debt can finally be cleared and more improvements made.
