Another Bank Holiday weekend has passed with lovely weather enabling many to go out and enjoy the sunshine whether in Loughill Park, Ballybunion or even Killarney where The Rally of the Lakes brought out huge crowds. Loughill Park is proving to becoming a meeting place for both children and adults and is bringing new life to the place. Congratulations again to the hardworking committee.
Fr Austin wishes to thank sincerely all those who contributed so generously in the recent Lenten and Easter dues collections.
It is lovely to see Jack O’Grady back home again and in good form after a little setback recently. We are made of strong stuff in the Knockdown area. Liam Enright, Tomas and Han Geoghegan and Jack, all over 90 years, are tops in this regard.
An Information Night for Gerald Griffins Men’s & Ladies GAA Club LIPSYNC Battles will take place in the Parish Hall Ballyhahill on SATURDAY MAY 18TH at 7.30pm. The main event itself takes place in The Devon Inn Hotel on Saturday, November 9th.
Ballyhahill Parents Association sent me the following: “Thanks to all those who came on Saturday last to help us in the bag packing in Tesco in Newcastlewest. €600 was raised. Well done to all. Some of this will be used in the upkeep of the front garden in which we will be working on over the next few weeks. Our next cleanup day is on the 18th May at 9am so as usual if anyone is available at all to help us out please put it in your diary. We wish all the 2nd Class kids a wonderful day celebrating their First Holy Communion this coming Saturday.”
Yes, we will be praying for these children who will be receiving their 1st Communion on Saturday and hope the day stays fine for the celebrations afterwards. Two of my own grandchildren will be among the group – Clodagh Prendeville and Noah Daly.
