Athea GAA
Minors:
Our Minors lined out against Mungret here in Páirc na nGael on Friday night last. Despite a very exciting and hard fought game it didn’t go our way. However considering we are ‘small fry’ here in West Limerick the boys should be glad with their performance and given time “they will show their worth”. Incidentally our pitch, stand, grounds and lighting were complimented by the visiting team.
Intermediates:
The Intermediates took to the pitch in Askeaton on Saturday night last, and lined out against St. Pat’s in ‘Round 2’ of the Intermediate Championship. Unfortunately they were unlucky to lose by just 1 goal and the score at the whistle read 1-11 to 0-11.
Mackey Draw:
There isn’t much time left now to purchase your tickets for the Mackey magnificent yearly draw. The first draw will be held in the not too distant future. Tickets can be got from any of the committee – or you can contact me on 087-1233361. Liz O’Sullivan, Paul Curry, Pat O’Sullivan, Rodger Ryan, Derek Byrne, Kevin O’Keeffe, John Hunt or any of the GAA folk will help you.
Hurling:
Great to see such a crowd of young people at the hurling training on Sunday last.
