Athea Utd (0) 2 (Jack Sexton, Louis O’Sullivan)
Pallaskenry (0) 0
Our twelves were in action at The Vales on Saturday morning in their first home game where Pallaskenry were visitors. It was a lovely day for a match and we were rewarded with a good win for our young players. There were no goals in the first half but early in the second half Jack Sexton put us ahead and midway through the half Louis O’Sullivan doubled our lead with a sweetly struck free kick. Pallaskenry put on a bit of pressure in the last quarter but the Athea held firm for a good win. Well done everybody.

U16 Division 2 (Sat, March 23rd)
Rathkeale (0) 3
Athea Utd (2) 4 (Paric Enright, Andrew O’Riordan 2, James Broderick)
Plenty of goals in Holycross last Saturday afternoon as our sixteens got their first win of the season with a four three win against Rathkeale. In truth there was more than a goal difference between the sides as we led four nil at one stage and it was only in the last fifteen minutes or so that the home side put the ball in the net. Paric Enright put us ahead on six minutes and four minutes later Andrew O’Riordan doubled our lead. Good play down our left saw Eoin O’Shea and James Broderick played a one two with Eoins well struck effort rebounding off angle of post and crossbar. Half time 2-0 to Athea.
Six minutes into the second half Andrew got his second and our third to put us in the driving seat. Midway through the half James Broderick got his first goal at U16s when he scored from close range after a corner from the left. Rathkeale got one back with fifteen minutes left and soon after got a second with a screamer from outside the box. We had chances to put the game to bed and held on solidly despite the home side scoring with the last kick of the game.
Team: Evin Curry, Shane Scanlon, TJ Hunt, Aidan Swan, Gavin Ambrose, Paric Enright, Michael Tierney, Eoin O’Shea, Jack Vaughan, Andrew O’Riordan, James Broderick. Sub Killian O’Connor.

A topsy turvy season continued in Feenagh last Sunday morning when our juniors got only their third win of the league. We were one down inside four minutes but two goals from Sean Ryan had us ahead and we extended this lead with a Darren Murphy goal. By half time however Feenagh were back on level; terms. Into the second half and a brace from Ger Ahern had us five three but Feenagh came back with their fourth before Dylan Griffin restored our two goal cushion with the final goal of the game.
