Athea GAA

Well following a meeting of the Executive Committee on Wednesday night last – it was exciting to hear that the much looked forward to hurling club will start training on March 31st for 6-12 year olds. Vetting for coaches is ongoing and parents are willingly giving of their time to get the hurling club off to a good start. We wish them well. If any of your children want to be part of the new hurling club you can get in contact with any of the committee

Good news also that following the S.D.C. fundraising night, the debt, with everyone’s help, is now down to €33,000. Mick Mackey tickets are now on sale from which the club also benefits, so if your would like to be in with a chance to win one of the super grand prizes, you can again get in touch with the Athea GAA committee – Paul Curry (Chairman) or ring 087-1233361 for details on who is selling the tickets here in Athea Club.

The Club sympathise with the Cregan family on the death of Mary Cregan R.I.P.

On this Saturday night, March 23rd the showing of the recent S.D.C. fundraiser for GAA will be held at Collins’ Bar at 8.30pm after mass. The DVD will be, no doubt, great fun to watch and will be on sale in Collins’ from next week onwards. The performers will enjoy their own specific acts, along with all the spectators.
