S.D.C. Fundraiser:

After many weeks of preparation, practicing dance and act routines, gathering adverts and spot prizes, selling tickets and a whole lot more “the big night” had eventually arrived! All roads led to the Devon Inn, Templeglantine, on Saturday night last for the much looked-forward to S.D.C. (Singers, Dancers & Chancers) fundraiser for out GAA Club. The M.C. on the night was Timmy O’Donoghue from The Old Mill, who did a fantastic job, to say the least, arriving on a Honda 50 with Raymond Enright! Athea Wrenboys opened the show with some great music. “Men in Black” (Fr. Tony Mullins & Fr. Brendan Duggan) got a great cheer – “Loose Springsteen” (Kevin O’Keeffe) will never be seen in the same light by his Tarbert students – sensational!. “Double Trouble” (Julie Finucane & Pat O’Sullivan) did a great Barbie & Ken. What about “Teenage Kicks” the Irish Dancers – they would be welcome any day by Riverdance. The youth group of  ‘The Young Offenders’ and Rubber Bandits along with ‘Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ group brought tears of laughter to the audience. ‘Women with Attitude’ were so colourful and talented, but of course the final act of “The Full Monty” brought cheers and rapturous applause from the hall. The West-End is calling them! Judges Teresa O’Halloran & Neilus Stackpoole from Athea and Breeda Breen, Ardagh did a great job. In all a brilliant fundraiser –

Thanks to one and all for your great support in every aspect of the fundraiser.
