Well the big “Launch Night” of the Singers, Dancer and Chancers was held at the Top of the Town on Friday night last. Photographers were in abundance and the club thank sincerely “The Weekly Observer” and Den O’Brien for being there on the night. Excitement is now mounting and Cassie, their tutor, is finalizing the acts which, no doubt, will have a few surprises! Boards are on display in the village with the main sponsors displayed. Ads are being collected at the moment and if anyone has not been contacted and would like to place an ad, please contact any of the Committee. It’s with everyone’s help the debt can be got down on our beautiful pitch, running track, lights, gym etc. Tickets are now on sale at Paul Collins’ at €20 each and you are advised to purchase in the next week or so as demand is bound to be huge. It should be a fantastic Athea Community Night so please support your club. Sport keeps our youth active and off the streets and with obesity and heart problems being seen in teenagers it is vital they have good sport conveniences.

Div 3:

Athea play Glin on March 2nd at home in ‘Div 3’ of the league. Great to see players training on Saturday morning from 7am onwards.
