Well done to all those who lined the pitch and had it in perfect condition for the U21’s Templeglantine Hurling game on Saturday last. All remarked it was “in peak form” and complimented the Athea GAA Club for their great facility of walking/running track, seated stand, brilliant lights for night training etc., and clubhouse and gym. Plans are in place already for the remaining lights on the track to be put in place in 2019.

S.D.C.:

Well this Friday night Feb 15th sees the ‘Launch Night’ at the Top of the Town at 8.30 for the big fundraising S.D.C. (Singers, Dancers & Chancers) night which is on March 2nd at the Devon Inn. Practice sessions with Cassie are well underway but with 3 weeks left, if anyone still wants to be in with a chance of being nominated S.D.C. winner, get your act, song dance or whatever together. No doubt our youth have some great ideas, and there are some very talented people in our parish, so volunteer to go on stage and help with easing the debt on our great GAA facility. Tickets are now on sale at Collins’ Shop at €20 or ring me (Kathleen on 087-1233361). You are advised to buy early as with the Lip Sync a couple of years ago – tickets were like “Hot Buns” and couldn’t be got.
