Athea GAA

Athea GAA Club wishes to extend ‘a very happy, peaceful and healthy New Year to all club members, players, supporters and all those who help in any way with the success and fund-raising of our GAA Club. 

Well it was great to see over the Christmas holidays and the fine weather that the walking track was being used so much, entirely safe for both young and old and even dogs who were out walking! Also the young people were out kicking football away from their electronic devices and practicing their football skills – indeed great to see.

Well March 1st is only about “7 weeks” away now – and this is the most important date to put in your diary. It’s the biggest fund-raiser the club is having since Lip-Sync 2 years ago and it’s so important that parents, footballers, ladies teams, each and every person gets behind the S.D.C. night (singers, dancers and chancers)  to help raise much needed funds for our fabulous pitch and it’s surroundings. So “get on your thinking caps” –  “gather your singers, dancers and chancers”, get your dance routine in place – or whatever you choose to do and do your bit for Athea GAA Club – “mothers and others”, parents, students and men’s and ladies teams, clergy, Tús workers.
