The local Abha Bhan Players are gearing up for St. John’s next week. Bookings are already being taken for Thursday and Friday February 7/8 at 8pm. Ring 068-22566 to book your ticket before it’s too late! You have loads of choice with the Athea Drama group on the same weekend also. The number to ring there is 087 2743189.

Ballyhahill NS Parents Association is planning to organise the monthly clean up of the school grounds on this Saturday 2nd of February at 9am. If anyone is  available to help out it would be  greatly appreciated as it always. There is a lot to be done in particular out the front and a lot of man power is needed on the day so if you have a spare hour or two it would be great. They will also be holding a pub quiz in The Knockdown Arms on the 15th March so put it in your diary! More on that later. All welcome!

Ballyhahill/Loughill Going Strong is starting Aqua Aerobics in Askeaton Pool on February 4th at 12.30 pm for 6 weeks. A welcome to anybody who is interested in joining. Just turn up.

I was sad to hear of the death of Mary Collins recently. She was a lovely lady with a smile always on her face. I enjoyed interviewing her for the Athea Journal in 2017. Having gone to school in Clounleharde it was her dream come true when the Clounleharde Reunion was organised in Knockdown in 2013. It was the one thing she wanted to attend before she died, she told us at the time. Mary attended every committee meeting that year in 2013 and got the greatest satisfaction from her involvement. Sympathies to her brother Seamus in Turraree, her son Pius and all the extended family. May she rest in peace.

If you have a family member who is unable to attend Mass in Loughill/Ballyhahill on Sundays and would like to receive Holy Communion please let Fr. Austin know at 087 2615471.
