Athea GAA

Christmas Wishes:

Athea GAA Club would like to wish each and every player, supporter, club member and indeed all readers of Athea GAA notes and all those who support the Club Draws etc – a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas and all good things for 2019.

It’s great to see the photos of the 1963 & 1968 teams from the very successful commemoration night, on the cover of this year’s 30th Parish Journal, indeed a night to remember – especially for the players, some who hadn’t seen each other for many years.

S.D.C.:

The S.D.C. (Singers, Dancers & Chancers) have started to assemble their groups for the huge fund-raising night on March 1st at The Devon Inn. They are inviting volunteers from the Men’s, Ladies and Mother’s & Others players from all teams along with any individuals who might like to go on stage and help the GAA fundraiser. It’s a great night of ‘fun’, ‘craic’ and moments of “complete euphoria” so join in and be part of the great show! There is no age limit, even pensioners can “strut their stuff” and you don’t have to be a ‘Michael Flatley’ or ‘Lady Gaga’ to join in. No doubt it will really take off after Christmas, the rehearsals etc.
