Athea GAA
U-21’s:
Our U-21’s played on Sunday last in Ballyhahill against St. Senan’s (Foynes). Unfortunately they lost to the opposition (2-12) to (1-8). The club wishes a speedy recovery to Pádraig Walsh who suffered a leg injury in the game, hopefully he will recover soon from same. In the coming weeks the U-21’s are down to play Granagh/Ballingarry – date, venue and time to be known shortly.
Pitch Lights:
Well it’s great to see the pitch lights, lighting up the running track and pitch these dark nights enabling walkers and joggers and those training to keep up their fitness levels over the winter months.
Fund-Raising:
Well the main priority for Athea GAA Club for the immediate future is fund-raisers. The Club Draw is ongoing, but at the same time fund-raising has to be the same. And now the extra track lighting is an extra bill, but however Páirc na nGael has now got every facility. So the “Mothers and Others” “Ladies Footballers” and the “Men’s Teams” are asked to all get their dancing shoes on and prepare for a Spring “Lip-Sync” – “Lip-Along.
