Commemoration Social:
Well following the very “enjoyable” and “talked about” Celebration Social of the 1963 and 1968 teams which recently took place at the Devon Inn, Templeglantine – D.V.Ds of the night and interviews beforehand are now on sale at Collins’ Shop. They are €15 each and you can have a free booklet of the teams also. These are a great memento to have and no doubt will be played over and over again. Last week’s supply had been sold out, so now more have been acquired. They would be a nice present to send overseas to our emigrants for Christmas.
Club Draw:
The 5th leg of the club draw will take place on this Saturday night at Donie’s. The very best of luck to all those who are in for the prizes. Don’t forget you can still join in for €10 a draw or €40 for the 4 remaining draws. “If you’re not in you can’t win”.
Fund-raising:
Well fund-raising has to be ongoing always for the club as additional improvements are being done all the time. The track/training lights are going to make a huge improvement and the pitch and surrounds are well lit up. It is hoped in the New Year that another ‘Lip-Sync’ or the like will be on the cards and the club are looking for organizers and “young blood” to take on the putting together of the events. So “mothers and others” – “Ladies” and of course “Gents” put your ideas in motion.

Athea Ladies Football
Minor Football:
Casey/Colbert’s 3-04 Old Mill 0-08
Our minor girls joined with Fr.Caseys known as Casey/Colbert’s had a great win over the Old Mill on Sunday evening last. It was an evenly contested match and at half time we led by two points with Sarah O’ Brien and Noelle Curtin getting a goal each. The Old Mill tried hard to break down our defense in the second half, but great defending by our girls and a couple of excellent saves kept the opposition at bay. Both sides exchanged points, but a second goal for Sarah O’ Brien gave our combination side breathing space and in the finish they won on a score line of Casey/Colbert’s 3-04, Old Mill 0-08. Panel: Sarah O’ Connor, Maeve Murphy, Rachel Greaney, Ella Fitzgerald, Michelle Curtin, Caoimhe Riordan, Chloe Brosnahan, Hazel Fitzgerald, Rachel Horan, Sarah O’ Brien, Noelle Curtin, Aibhilin Murphy, Ciana Murphy, Muirne Lane & Shauna Curtin.
