There have been a lot of bereavements locally in the past week. Sympathies to the O’Connor family Knocknaboula on the death of Mary, to the Wallace family on the death of Paul in Lixnaw and to the Looney family, Ballyhahill on the death of Dan. May they rest in peace and may all their loved ones find comfort.

Masses on the coming weekend in Loughill and Ballyhahill are being offered up in thanksgiving for the Harvest. Special gifts and prayers will be offered.

The AGM of the Parish Hall will take place on this Wednesday 10th October at 7.30 pm in the hall. New members welcome.

Abha Bhan Parish Park Committee wishes to announce that the opening of the Park will now take place in Spring 2019. It was envisaged the Park would open in October this year, but due to gaining planning & funding for an additional much needed storage facility, which will include a wheel chair accessible toilet, the opening has been deferred until early next year. As the Park is still currently a building site, your continued co-operation is very much appreciated, as un-authorised entry is still prohibited. The official opening date will be announced well in advance, so stay tuned. Tickets on sale now for the Christmas Bumper Raffle and can also be purchased by contacting 087 653 5032 or by private messaging the Abha Bhan Parish Park Facebook page  or by email to [email protected]. All support greatly appreciated.

The Abha Bhán Drama Group will be presenting the play “Sive” on 30th November and 1st December in the Parish Hall, Ballyhahill. There will be a fundraiser (to cover insurance, props etc)  in Barr na Sráide on this Saturday 13th October with music by Gerard Quilligan. Raffle tickets will be sold on the night with great prizes to be won. It promises to be a fun night. All support will be greatly appreciated. There will be a Church Gate collection on the weekend of November 17/18 which, it is hoped will also be supported.

Welcome home to Sean and Bernie Prendeville who have returned from Australia to settle down in their native country.
