Three new infants started school in Ballyhahill last week. Saibh, Emily and Tyon are happy to be in “Miss Hartnett’s room” where they will be well looked after.

Pauline Sharp’s Art is being displayed in St John’s Theatre in Listowel for the month of September. Pauline Tee, who lives in Glenbawn, has called her exhibition “Essence of Equine – an exhibition of artworks in oils related to everything equine, including yardmates. Capturing horses of every description in all their beauty.” The exhibition opened last  Saturday night September 1st.  Congratulations and the best of luck to Pauline. 

An eight week course on Meditation and Mindfulness by qualified Psychotherapist and Mindfulness Teacher, Ali Burnard, will begin in Cloverfield in Glin on Monday September 17th. Learn how to slow down and experience the peace of a relaxed mind in a small supportive group. Booking is essential as group size is limited. All welcome. Cost = €100. Beginner’s Class starts at 6.30 pm to 8 pm. Continuation Class for more experienced starts at 8.15 to 9.45pm. Another class takes place in NCW from Thursday 20th Sept from 7.30 to 9pm. Cost €115. Bridge Lessons will begin in Foynes Parish Centre (the former AIB building) on Wednesday 26th September at 7.30 pm for anybody interested in learning the game. Further details from Mary at 087 7573978. I believe it is a great way to practice concentration.

It is blackberry picking time and there are lots of luscious berries this year. It brings back memories of picking them, as children, in Templeathea many years ago and selling them to Pa Connors in the village. We got so much pleasure out of it. I take my grandchildren now and hope they get the same pleasure.
