Athea GAA

Intermediates:

Well, our Intermediates are doing very well recently and their last game, which will be against Mungret, will be on August 23rd. This is a very important game for them and a win would put them into the semi-final, so they would appreciate as much support as they can and who knows they might “go up a step”.

Minors:

Unfortunately the minors were beaten on Thursday night last in Ballingarry by Granagh/Ballingarry. (3-10) to (0-9). Some players were away, but they tried their best.

All-Ireland:

No doubt there will be great demand for All-Ireland tickets with the game fast approaching. We do not know the allocation numbers yet for Athea Club. As soon as it is known “a text message” will go out to all members of the Athea GAA Club, to discern who will be seeking tickets. It is a club rule for some time that if you are seeking to have your name in the draw, you must be actually going to the match – passing tickets on to another party isn’t allowed. The Limerick flags are ‘flying high’ in and around the parish and excitement is mounting. If Limerick wins the All-Ireland, Limerick supporters at home and abroad will be on “cloud nine” for weeks – we live in hope.
