The Intermediates had a nice win over Glin in NewcastleWest on Friday night, with a 2 point win (0-14) to (2-6). This was an important game for both sides so Athea were very happy with their win. Their next game is this Friday evening against Bruff at 7.30pm in Dromcollogher, another important game. Please give your support.

Junior B’s:

Unfortunately the Junior ‘B’ team lost to Ballysteen on Saturday night on a scoreline of (3-8) to (2-0). This game was played in Ballyhahill.

Well what a game our U14’s had last week in Glin against a Glin/Ballyhahill combination. Each player played their hearts out and between them made no mistakes. Everyone agreed this bunch is a group to be watched – they were brilliant. And with Pádraig Walsh’s training and their dedication they are a team of the future.

Gaelic for Mothers and Others:

Early on Saturday morning last our Gaelic for Mother and Others team headed for the Mallow GAA Complex to take part in the Munster Blitz. It was a glorious day for football and our ladies shone out as they put a mighty effort into the four games we played. We played Milltown/Castlemaine from Kerry, Banteer from Cork, St.Patricks from Tipperary and Shamrocks from Waterford. It was great to see our ladies play so well, they have improved immensely over the past few weeks, getting some great scores throughout the day, their hand passing was excellent and their team work could not be faulted. We look forward to more great days ahead for this fantastic bunch of ladies.  Panel: Loretta Brouder, Mag Barrett, Maura Ahern, Olivia Quinn, Helen Cleary, Diane Cleary, Stacey Galvin, Jackie Broderick, Laura Brosnan, Kayrena Hanrahan, Mary Teahan, Deirdre Mullane, Sarah Reidy, Lorraine O’ Connor and Donna O’ Sullivan.
