Mothers and Others:

Isn’t it great to see football training for ‘mothers and others’ continuing at Páirc na nGael each Tuesday night from 7-8pm. It’s a ‘get together’ for all “fun”, “fitness”, “football” and “frolics”. You don’t have to be an experienced player or anything like that – everyone welcome.

Club Draw:

Tickets are going well for the ‘500 Club Draw’ and with some great prizes, it’s good to be in with a chance. Fully paid up members of the €80, for 8 draws, are in with a chance of winning €1,000. Tickets can be bought from any club members or from me on 087-1233361.

Advertise:

Would you like to advertise your company or even if you are an individual, at home or abroad, you might like to have your name on the advertising board at Páirc na nGael. Each board pays a yearly minimal fee and this helps to defray the debt on the pitch. Also the boards are a great source of advertising and are the first thing one sees on approaching the pitch. Enquiries to Paul Curry on 087-6501673.

Junior B’s:

Athea Junior B’s lined out against St. Kieran’s here in Athea on Sunday evening last, a game which they heavily lost unfortunately, here’s to better days ahead!

Matches:

U1
The under 16 team played two challenge matches recently in preparation for their upcoming county league matches. They played out a draw with St. Senans in Foynes, 3–13 apiece, with some great scores kicked by both teams. With twenty six scores it worked out at nearly a score every two minutes, which made for plenty of excitement. We then traveled to Glin to play the locals last Friday night in a perfect night for football. Glin were a bit under strength on the night and thanks to a blistering start to the second half we finished up winners 4–9 to 2–4. We have a long break until our next league game away to Dromcollogher/Broadford on July 16th, but we have another couple of challenge games lined up for after the Junior Cert and we will continue to train weekly.
Panel:  Colin Broderick, Aidan Curry, Alex McEldowney, Eoin Sheahan, Evan Wallace, Thomas McEnery, Jack Hunt, Luke Gleeson, Conor McAuliffe, Brian Reidy, Michael Tierney, Brandon Finucane, Eoin O’Shea, Gavin Ambrose, Andrew O’Riordan, T.J. Hunt, Pierce O’Brien, Paraic Enright, Dermot Pierse, Daire O’Shea, Gearoid O’Sullivan and Conor Mullane.
