The annual ‘500 Club’ Draw, which is the main fund-raiser for the Athea GAA Club, will be having the tickets for sale in the near future. Throughout the past number of years – the Athea community and beyond have got behind the draw. From those buying the tickets to the dedicated sellers. A ticket is a nice present to give someone for a birthday or whatever. As always the monthly draws will have some great prizes, with a special ‘fully paid up’ member’s prize and seller’s prize. You can also pay monthly or by direct debit. So please once again your support would be much appreciated.
U-16s:
Congrats and well done to the U-16 boys who, on Thursday evening last, played Glin here in Athea in the 2nd round of the league. Our boys were too strong for the opposition and the final result showed this. (4-11) to (2-4) a thirteen point lead. Best of luck to them for future games.
Pitch:
Despite the vast amounts of rain that we experienced over recent months, Páirc na nGael here in Athea has remained in extremely good condition and is admired by visiting teams no end. The walking/running track is being used all year round which is great.
