History Book:
Interviews are underway with football enthusiasts, in preparation for Jamie Kelly’s GAA history book 1954/1968. the celebration for the 50th anniversary of the 1968 team will be in October and this is going to be a much looked-forward to night. I’m sure “dancing with the stars” will give our men and women the urge to get a show together to fund-raise for the club in the near future.
GAA Healthy Club:
The GAA all over Ireland are promoting “Healthy Clubs” in their own specific areas – Athea has a fine walking/running track and gym, so hopefully everyone will get involved and do their own bit here in Athea.
Coiste na nÓg:
Garda Vetting:
As we prepare ourselves for the New Year of training and matches we need to remind ALL our coaches who will be involved with children up to the age of 18 years old that they MUST be Garda Vetted.
It is a very easy process to go through. If any of our coaches are not Garda vetted they will not be allowed to coach any team until they have processed their details.
GAA vetting services are available to any person over 16 years of age fulfilling a role of responsibility with children. Consent from a parent / Guardian shall be required for applicants between 16 & 18 years of age.
If you have received an email to confirm your clearance, please forward a copy of this email to Jacqueline as soon as possible so records are up to date.
