Div 2 Co. League:

Our Intermediates travelled to Ballysteen on Tuesday evening last to meet the tough opposition there in Div. 2 of the County League. All knew this wasn’t going to be an easy game and the result showed this in the end with Ballysteen winning by a big margin of (5-11) to (1-13). However Athea must not be disillusioned. Here’s to better times ahead.

Junior B:

The Junior B team lined out against St. Kieran’s on Friday night in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. Athea were up by 7 pts at half-time and things were looking good. However, at the final whistle we were so unlucky to lose by just 1 measly point (2-11) to (2-10). This was ‘Round 3’ of the Junior B Championship.

The Mayo flags are flying in Dirreen and Lower Athea following their win against Derry recently in an exciting game!.

Draw:

Next weekend sees the 1st draw of the ‘500 Club Draw’ taking place at the Top of the Town – there are just a few tickets left – be in with a chance and buy one – you could be lucky. Fully paid up members are in for a €1,000 extra prize.

Thanks:

The club wishes to thank sincerely Kiely Bros. Construction in Birmingham (who have Athea connections) for their most generous contribution to the club. It is very much appreciated by Athea GAA.
