Oola 0:09 Athea 1:05
This was a match played on a very poor pitch which was very testing for both teams. Athea put up a very brave challenge and lead in the last few minutes only to be beaten by a point. The game was interrupted by a heated exchange in which three Oola players and one Athea player were sent off.
The club and team send our best wishes to Pa Chawke who sustained an injury in the game and hope that he makes a speedy recovery.

Athea Utd AFC
Premier Division (Sun, March 19th)
Athea Utd (0) 1 Darren Murphy
Carrig Cel (0) 2
We lost by a single and very late goal against local rivals Carrig Celtic at The Vales lass Sunday morning. It was a game that we needed to win and where the effort put in by the players matched that reality. Unfortunately however we never got into our stride in possession. While we defended very well we seemed to lose the ball too easily and failed to create clear chances. Ger Collins created one good chance in the first half but if was just out of Dylan Griffins reach and at the interval the game remained scoreless.
The same trend continued on the resumption and it was looking more and more likely that we would see no goals. However it was in the final ten minutes that the game came to life. Carrig broke the deadlock with a well taken goal. This sparked us into action. Cillian O’Connor who had played very well in goals was moved outfield to give us an extra option. He immediately was involved, flicking first time into Darren Murphys path for Darren to then beat the keeper. Almost from kick off we were caught cold however as Carrig scored from a header at the back post. There was too little time for an equaliser and we ended the game pointless.
Team: Cillian O’Connor, Mike Reidy, Mark Reidy, martin Chawke, Padraig Reidy, Kevin Murphy, Ger Collins, Gerard Ahern, Ronan Hayes, Darren Murphy, Dylan Griffin.
