Ballyhahill Development Association has organised that the switching on of the Christmas Lights will take place in Ballyhahill Church grounds on this Saturday 10th December. This will commence at 6.45 pm after Mass in Loughill and will last approximately half an hour. Carol singers will be on hand and Santa will drop by to make the occasion extra special. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the occasion and mark the start of the Christmas festivities.

Mass last Sunday in Ballyhahill was offered  for those who died in the parish within the last twelve months; they were as follows –  Mick Guiry, Peg O’Grady, Rose Cregan and Nancy O’Brien.

It’s Christmas Raffle time again in Ballyhahill National School! This is a very important fundraiser which the Ballyhahill NS Parents Association organises each year. It provides vital funds to help the pupils with extras like computers, sports equipment, days out and much more. All pupils have cards and there is a card in Paddy’s shop in Bally also. Lines are €2 each. All support appreciated.

Killeaney AFC also has a Christmas raffle coming up so do the best you can with all these raffles. We have to keep supporting our own communities so that we can all thrive together.

Congratulations to the three “besties” Sinéad Harrisson, Carol Stanley and Ciara Fitzgerald who got together to celebrate their 30th birthdays in the Knockdown Arms last weekend. It was great to see so many young healthy people having a good time together. It makes the rest of us feel old but no harm in facing reality either.

Sympathies to the Mullane families in Finnoe on the death of their mother Bridie Mullane in her 90th year last weekend. She is survived by daughters Mary and Margaret, son John and their extended families. May she rest in peace.
