Ballyhahill is coming into the limelight in different way recently. An exhibition of work by leading Irish equine artists, which includes none other than our own Pauline Sharp of Glenbawn, will be open to the public throughout the Derby weekend at the Curragh. Congratulations and best wishes to Pauline on being included in such a big event. Huge applause to Ben Betts of Ballyhahill who is now into the final of the U20’s Rugby World cup, the Irish team having beaten Argentina on Monday night. Ben started his rugby career with Estuary rfc in Shanagolden as a young boy. Well done

Ballyhahill is also looking forward to creating and setting up the new preschool room in the Primary school. Sharon, who is qualified to level 8 in Childhood Care and Early Education, has some great ideas to implement and is grateful to everybody for the support she has got already through her new facebook page – Ballyhahill Pre-school. It will open in September. She can be contacted at 0874587601.

Congratulations to James O’Brien, our young farmer from The Hill, Ballyhahill, who got married last weekend to Louise Masterson from Limerick. We wish them both many happy years on the Hill. Another young family in the parish is always welcome.

The summer solstice and full moon on Monday night was disappointing due to the cloudy skies. I hope our summer has not gone for good.

We continue our prayers for Tommy Moran, Athea and Kieran Fitzgerald, Glin who are both seriously ill in separate hospitals in Spain. It is such a tragic time for all their loved ones.
