The future of Killeaney AFC club looks bright for years to come as a result of the standard of play in Listowel Celtic’s blitz last Monday. Congratulations to the u9’s and 10’s who took part. Both teams played some outstanding free flowing soccer, loads of goals were scored and a player of the tournament could not be picked from either age group as the effort from every single player was of the highest standard! Well done to all and to all who helped out on the day.
Congratulations to our own Dymphna O’Brien who captained the Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 4 for Limerick who won against Antrim. Dymphna O’Brien has played in all the five losing games and so it was an exciting moment when at last Limerick had success. Well done to all.

Pope Francis has asked for the whole of Europe to take up a collection for the people of the Ukraine. He wants the collection to be a “gesture of charity that, apart from alleviating material suffering, shows my personal closeness as well as that of the entire Church.” Violence has intensified recently in eastern Ukraine between government forces and Russian-backed rebels, international monitors have warned. If anyone in the parish of Loughill/Ballyhahill wishes to donate you are asked to add to the Offertory Collection this coming weekend.
Glin Comhaltas will be entertaining all in the Knockdown Arms on this Friday night to raise some funds for the upcoming Fleadh Ceoil in Glin on the June bank holiday weekend. Music begins at 9.30 pm. All welcome for a good nights entertainment. –
