Club Limerick Draw (Mackey Draw):

The Club Limerick Draw (Mackey Draw) will recommence in March and we would really appreciate your support. The draw is an important source of revenue with 50% of all funds collected returned to the local club with the remaining money going towards the development of our county teams, the Green & white, etc. CLUB Limerick Draw also provides Clubs with Finance to Fund their ongoing developments both on and off the field. All members this year will receive a 10% discount card which can be used in Elverys, Limerick Race Course, Limerick Greyhound Stadium, Thomond Park Stadium, Irish Country Hotels and Timmy Macs Resturant in the Woodlands House Hotel Adare. Like previous years there will be 10 monthly draws from March to December. This year’s prize fund has been increased with in excess of €300,000 up for grabs. For the March and June draws there will be a star 1st prize of €20,000 cash or a choice of car. The top prize for all remaining draws will be €10,000. The second prize will be €3,000, third prize €2,000 and fourth prize €1,000. With sixteen other cash prizes up for grabs plus a guaranteed Lotto Jackpot of €10,000 every month there are lots of chances to be a winner.  If you would like to find out more and join for the coming year please feel free to contact any committee member or our draw coordinator Mairead Donovan.

West Board All-Star Award:

The Club would like to congratulate Shane Mulvihill and Connie Noonan who were presented with awards at the West Board All Star Banquet on Saturday night last in The Rathkeale House hotel in front of a large crowd from Athea. Well done to both Shane and Connie.

Intermediate Football Championship Draw 2016:

There are two groups of six teams who will contest the Championship.

Group 1: Cappamore, Glin, Claughaun, Mungret, Bruff & Galbally.
Group 2: St. Senans, Athea, Cappagh, Adare, Mountcollins & Castlemahon.

Round 1: Athea v St. Senans,

Round 2: Athea v Cappagh,
Round 3: Athea v Castlemahon,
Round 4: Athea v Mountcollins,
Round 5: Athea v Adare.

Training: U10:

Training for U10s resumes in the hall this Friday evening February 26 from 7.15pm to 8pm. There will be a charge of €2 per player. Gum shields are compulsory.


If there is anyone who would like to get involved in any way with any of our underage teams, especially with our U6s & U8s in 2016 please contact Jacqueline O’ Connor on 086-0670091. We have a great club and we would love for parents to join our fantastic team of coaches for the coming year.


Our 2016 Calendar is on sale now at Rose’s shop and Collins’ shop at a cost of €10. It has loads and loads of pictures from the year gone by in Coiste na nÓg. These would make a lovely present for people both home and abroad.

No games last weekend with both our games on Saturday called off due to unplayable pitches, the U14 game away to Shountrade and the youths game away to Broadford Utd.

Our second competition of the season is underway with 189 people looking to become the winner of the last man standing competition. Week 1 began on the weekend of February 13/14th where we had over half the field going out (99 fallers). The losing teams that contributed to such a big number of fallers were Everton (lost at home to Swansea) and Man Utd. (lost away to Sunderland)

Mike Hayes is sponsoring this Last Man Standing competition and the club thanks him for this. Prize money is €300 while the club are giving €50 to the winning seller.
