Congratulations to George Langan on his new CD “Cold Hard Facts of Life” which is on sale in Mullane’s Shop Knockdown, Collins’ Bar, Athea, Maireád Langan, Glenagagra, or from George himself on 086-3186629. Well done George, you never stay idle.

There has been a spate of birthdays and parties recently from Knockdown to Glin, Jack O’Grady/Cotter 5, Dillon O’Brien, 21, Anne McGrath 50, Bridget Brouder/Ahern 60 to mention but a few. Happy Birthday to all concerned.

There is a Mission with the theme “Renewal in a Time of Change” organised for Loughill/Ballyhahill in the Church of the Visitation, Ballyhahill on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night 21st to 23rd May. The Vincentian Retreat team will lead ceremonies each night at 7.30pm as well as Friday morning Mass at 7 am and an Anointing for the Sick and Housebound at 11.00 am on Saturday morning.  Thursday will focus on families while Friday will deal with healing of losses of any kind, death, emigration, loss of job etc. The closing Mass will take place at 7.30 on Saturday night after the usual vigil Mass at 6pm. Everybody is welcome to attend any or all of the ceremonies and it is hoped it will be a source of blessing and sustenance for all.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Darragh Lanigan, formerly of Kilpadogue, Tarbert,  husband to Louise Higgins formerly of Glenagragra on Sunday. Sincere sympathies to both his own family and to the Higgins family. May he rest in peace and may his wife and family find the grace to be able to bear this sad loss.
