RESULTS

U10 Division 4 (Sat, November 22nd)

Pallaskenry (0) 0

Athea Utd    (2) 5  James Broderick (3), Callum Buckley (2)

The tens stayed in contention for end of season honours with a solid five nil win away to Pallaskenry last Saturday morning. Callum Buckley put us ahead when he drilled the ball into the bottom right corner from twenty five yards before James Broderick reacted quickest in the box to nutmeg a defender and fire to the back of the net. In the second half  we continued to press and after a well struck shot by Evan Curry was parried by the keeper James followed up to power home our third goal. Before the end James had competed his hat trick with Callum getting his second of the day.

Team – Donnacha Barrett, Calum Gleeson, Michael Walsh, Callum Buckley, Evan Curry, James Broderick, Ciaran Hunt, Fionn Histon, Rory Mahony.

U14 Division 3 (Sat, November 22nd)

Athea Utd           (5) 7

Jack O’Connor (3), Jason Dillon (2), Micah O’Connell, Mike McCarthy     Broadford Utd B (0) 0

The fourteens made it five wins in a row to keep the pressure on the league leaders and once we had gotten in front here there was going to be only one winner. We were five up at half time with a brace apiece for Jason Dillon and Jack O’Connor and a cracking goal to the roof of the net from Micah O’Connell. The trend continued in the second half with Mike McCarthy getting in on the act with a crisp low finish before Jack completed his hat trick following a quick counter attack.

Team – Evan Wallace, Andrew O’Riordan, David O’Connor, Seamus Leahy, Ryan O’Connell, Dylan Swift, Mike McCarthy, Micah O’Connell, John Sexton, Jack O’Connor, Jason Dillon. Subs DJ O’Connor, Tomas McEnery, Alex McEldowney, Luke Gleeson.   Referee Pat King.
