Christmas Street Lighting Collection

Athea Community Council Ltd. will be holding the annual collection for the Christmas street lighting this weekend, Saturday/Sunday November 22/23. As the cost of the street lighting is getting more expensive each year we would really appreciate your support, especially from the households and businesses in the village. The overall cost last year which included erection of the strand lighting, replacement bulbs and ESB  amounted to €2,200.78. The collection last year totalled €678 and we received a grant from Limerick County Council for €505 which totals €1,183 this still leaves us with a shortfall of €1,017.78.

The street lighting really brightens up the village over the Christmas season and it would be a shame if we could no longer afford to continue with it.

Going Strong Christmas Party

This year’s Christmas party will take place on Wednesday, December 10th at the Top of the Town. There will be a hot meal, music by Blue Rhythm, spot prizes etc. for €10 per person. Those wishing to attend are asked to please hand in their names to Rose at Brouder’s shop or to any member of the committee as soon as possible. We would also be very grateful for spot prizes.

St. Vincent de Paul

The annual Church gate collection in aid of St. Vincent de Paul will take place on the weekend of December 6th/7th at all Masses. Your support would be very much appreciated.

Listowel Community Hospital mass
