Going Strong Christmas Party

This year’s Christmas party will take place on Wednesday, December 10th at the Top of the Town. There will be a hot meal, music by Blue Rhythym, spot prizes etc. Those wishing to attend are asked to please hand in their names to Rose at Brouder’s shop or to any member of the committee as soon as possible. Extra help would also be welcome on the day. We would also be very grateful for spot prizes.

The committee would like to again say a very big thank you to the Harvest Festival committee for a wonderful summer Going Strong party.

St. Vincent de Paul

The annual Church gate collection in aid of St. Vincent de Paul will take place on the weekend of December 6th/7th at all Masses. Your support would be very much appreciated.

Well Done

Congratulations to Maurice Moore, son of Tom and Mary, who has been chosen on the Irish team for the junior Science Olympics in Argentina. He was one of approximately 125 students, countrywide, who were called by the national organisers, DCU, Dublin, to a selection trial. Qualification for this was on foot of each participant achieving at least 95% in Science and Maths in this year’s Junior Cert.

Maurice won a silver medal in this trial competition and will be one of six team members flying out to Mendoza on November 30th and the entire trip will take thirteen days  Maurice has received his education in Ballyhahill, where mother Mary is principal, and in Tarbert Comprehensive, which had some spectacular results in this year’s exams.
