Athea Fishing Club

Our annual BBQ in Brown Joe’s Pub turned out to be a great success and we would like to thank everyone who came along and supported our club on Sunday night last. A special thanks to the following who generously gave spot prizes: Lal Browne, Rose Enright, Pat & Maureen Mulvihill, Ballyhass Lake, Mallow, Athea Gun Club, Wrenboys, Tom & Marcella O’Grady of Brown Joe’s Pub.

Winners of the various spots were: John ‘Anfield’ Walsh, Mary Scanlon, Helen Sheehan, Pa Moore, Francie Flavin, Shannon Brady & Richard O’Connor.

Our mixed competition which was meant to go ahead last Saturday had to be cancelled due to the serious low level of water in our River Galey. More news and updates about that competition will appear in next week’s issue
