NEW SEASON UNDERWAY

The 2014/15 Desmond League season commenced last Sunday with both our As and Bs in action. The As were away to defending league champions Broadford Utd A and despite been without a number of regulars put in a decent display but it was the homeside that won two nil. In their first game the Bs picked up an opening day point after a two all draw away to Glantine. Peter O’Connor put them ahead with a cool finish before goals either side of half time saw Glantine ahead. Athea persisted and a great through ball from Mike Twomey to Steven McEnery saw the striker fouled with Peter O’Connor coolly slotting home the resultant penalty.
